    Mr. Caro,
Thank you for your excellent site, I’ve enjoyed reading around and learning from you and your community. Is there a section where we can request articles? I realize you are very busy, and if such a section does exist I apologize. In particular, I’d love to hear your opinion on the concept of being “pot committed” (I searched for this but could not find it). I’ve heard lots of opinions but none that I trust as much as yours! Thank you again for sharing your gift and your efforts.

    Joseph

    1. Mike Caro says:

      Hi, Joseph –

The best place for requests like that would be our forum when it opens in a month or so. (Click TALK on the menu above.)

You’re only “pot committed” if the projected cost of pursuing the hand is less than the projected average return.

      Straight Flushes,
      Mike Caro

  2. Trevor Talbert says:

    Mike,

I think your books, blogs, and overall teachings are genius. Why do you think you haven’t found more success in your poker playing career? Don’t get me wrong, you have been quite successful, but you haven’t reached any major final tables (or won bracelets). I find that to be strange given the vast amounts of research and time you have put into poker.

I don’t mean for this question to be insulting in any way. I have nothing but the utmost respect for you, and wish you nothing but the best.

    Thanks!
    Trevor

    1. Mike Caro says:

      Hi, Trevor —

Thanks for making your first comment and joining our Poker1 family.

If you explore this site, you’ll find many entries explaining why I don’t play many tournaments. It has to do with the penalty for winning first place.

Like other well-known players, I sincerely believe I’m the best, but have chosen not to enter the 300 events a year required to prove it. You’ll just have to take my word for it. LOL.

      Straight Flushes,
      Mike Caro

  3. William A. Day says:

Why hasn’t anyone written about freeroll tournaments as a frugal way to build a bankroll.

    1. Mike Caro says:

Good point, William. Free roll poker tournaments are a great way to get jump started.

      Welcome to our Poker1 family.

      Straight Flushes,
      Mike Caro

      1. Julie Danter says:

I’m so glad you said that.

I’m trying to build a bankroll by playing Free Roll and was beginning to think I was just a cheap skate.
