MCU poker tip: Don’t act on a tell immediately

I’ve touched on this topic many times before. It’s important.

Some players are so proud when they spot a poker tell that they act immediately and smugly. That’s a mistake! The last thing you want to do is make opponents aware that they have tells.

Hesitate

Hesitate and act unsure, as if you’re calling or folding at whim. Or act if you’ve suddenly decided, many seconds after you actually have, for a completely different reason.

That way, it’s less likely that your opponents will adjust their behavior correctly, and you’ll be able to profit from those same tells again. — MC
