News talk 2014-01-24: Union memberships increase

I have many quarrels with unions in general, especially in regards to legally protected status in ways that seem unreasonable and their sometimes thuggy means of operation. Unions are not necessarily evil, but — as a whole — I think that they have grown to be bad in practice.

Still it’s strangely refreshing to see a small bump up in membership. It’s similar to seeing a hapless opponent finally score points in a game that cannot be won. — MC
