Resolved FTP connection issues at the remote Poker1 server
Installed new default content graphic (upside down spade with “P1) without accent lines, in harmony with pending new header.
Edited PHP file for footer to change irregular capitalization in “All Rights Reserved worldwide.” Make it read “All rights reserved worldwide.”
Finished designing and switching to new header logo with spade in harmony with content graphic. Note: The previous upload broke header code, which showed parts of both old and new intermingled. Needed to revert to a back-up theme days ago, but lost Doyle’s Room banner temporarily and reinsertion is still pending. The final header fix included designing, copying and modifying the current theme, including replacing of header.jpg and header.png with files representing the new graphics, altering the position of the non-graphical blog title “Mike Caro” via CSS, removing the secondary hard-coded, non-graphical title in WordPress administration (“Home of MCU / Mike Caro University of Poker,” which was replaced by a graphic substitution adding “Gaming and Life Strategy”), and changing the main title from white to dark gray in style.css.

Inserted small version of P1 graphic at top of all entries in the “Poker tell video” series. Previously they didn’t have the branding.

Updated default content graphic (p1 spade) to be consistent with pending new header (with “Poker1” on larger spade).
Finalized new header graphics and generated theme (not activated – still working on code). Discontinued the Flash animation of wispy moving clouds at the test site, due to possible distraction, small bandwidth overhead, and possible jerkiness on dial-up connections. Removed the accent lines above and below “Poker1,” because they are no longer needed to make the logo standout, using the simpler design. Removal of these lines was suggested by Michael Wiesenberg and Diane McHaffie. Mike Caro agrees that the design is better without them, but believed they were needed in the old test-site header. Also (see separate listing) removed lines from new content graphic (upside down spade with P1, and capitalized ‘p” for consistency with pending new header.(Can been seen at www.poker1-new.com test site. Note to visitors: Poker1-new.com is NOT a functioning site with meaningful content.)
Updated Mike Caro posterized photo in pending header to trim hair that looked like devil’s horns and lighten a bit. This is not yet seen at the new live Poker1, only at the test site.
