Poker1 log of changes and additions: 2010-04

2010-04-02

Added or completed entries or pages…

Wiesenberg (intro): 000 About the Aunt Sophie series

Poker tell video: Pat or not?

Poker tell video: Patience

Mike Caro poker word is Flop

Note to visitors reading our development changelog: There are many new unplanned entries below. This constitutes a catch-up endeavor, because we discovered that a group of articles at the old Poker1 site had not been transferred. We thought they had been prior to opening the semi-under-construction Poker1 to the public 18 days ago. Below is a growing list of this newly transferred content, as it arrives from Diane McHaffie (MCU director of operations). The articles haven’t been fully formatted yet. The remaining tells videos at the old Poker1 and the poker odds tables are scheduled to trickle in over the next month. The tables require significant reformatting. Today’s unscheduled content…

Third in series of multiple-choice poker tests

How government got involved in gambling

Seating: One of the easiest paths to poker profit

Secrets of checking and raising

Short-handed poker, “P” people, plus hold ’em misery

Some tips on playing the small blind

Bad tournament advice – here’s why

More advice to help us win in real life

Changed entries or pages…

Rewrote headlines for all Michael Wiesenberg entries so they’ll appear in logical sequence in forthcoming index

Made all Michael Wiesenberg bylines link to his bio

Removed title that popped up over standard Poker1 graphic from several Wiesenberg entries and the INDEX page on the main menu

Added link to Michael Wiesenberg index on all his entries and his bio

(Applies to most content.) Updated default content graphic (upside-down spade) to brand it with “p1” (for Poker1). (There will remain some instances where this change didn’t take, because a different variation of the graphic was used. These will need to be replaced as found.)

Transferred, reformatted, and uploaded eight articles from old Poker1 site that were skipped over accidentally before opening the new site to the public. Diane McHaffie, MCU director of operations, is continuing this now – so there will be a much greater number of entries made live today than planned (tomorrow, even more).

Minor fixes

Functionality added, discontinued, or changed…

Removed all sub-index pages from the top menu

Listed all pending sub-indexes at top of complete Poker1 index page (main INDEX tab)

Created Michael Wiesenberg index page

Activated Michael Wiesenberg index at top of complete index

Added “_blank” to static graphic links on Doyle’s Room endorsement entry, so landing page opens in new window or tab, leaving Poker1 available (also did this for right sidebar link)

Cleared cache and started fresh, allowing link update (“_blank” added) to Doyle’s Room on right sidebar to activate

Removed page “Index: Michael Wiesenberg,” which survived when main menu index functionality was changed by eliminating all submenu items under the INDEX tab earlier today. The page was orphaned and its heading appeared black on dark gray (hard to see) to the right of Zone 2.

Other…

Added “Wiesenberg (intro): 000 About the Aunt Sophie series” to Spotlight

Removed “The flawed poker concept of limiting the field” from Spotlight

Added “Mike Caro poker word is Flop” to Spotlight (didn’t remove an entry, because list was one short of the 18 intended to be featured)

2010-04-01

Added or completed entries or pages…

Poker tell video: Make them look back

Poker tell video: Misdirected bet

Extreme poker – a vision I should keep to myself

Any gambler can beat the bookie

Changed entries or pages…

Removed commenter’s link (from name preceding copied comment) in “Poker1: Terrible, annoying, old-fashioned? (Caro blog), but left it on the actual comment below “Contact us.”
