Why are there some duplicate entries? (FAQ)

Answer: If you find any entries that are precise duplicates, we’d appreciate it if you let us know by sending an e-mail to Poker1@caro.com.

There are entries written at different times that cover the same or similar topics. Sometimes, there are even entries that quote from earlier columns or articles. Those older versions are included here for historical purposes. Rarely an entire earlier entry is repeated inside a later one.

Usually the “duplicate” entries have different words leading into the quoted content and sometimes afterward. The text of the copied material may be slightly or even significantly different — or exactly the same. The reason for this is that I have written over a thousand columns and articles for print publications, and sometimes I’ve announced my discovery of something written years earlier that I wanted to share again that day.

You’ll find several versions of the satirical true history of gambling, for instance. And there are concepts covered in different words, though similar in focus, such as how to handle poker bullies, my Law of Loose Wiring, and more.

I’ve decided to share the complete collection of my writings and lectures here. So, if you encounter an entry that seems too similar to something you’ve already read, heard, or seen, and you don’t think there’s enough new content there to hold your interest, just move along to other content. You won’t hurt my feelings by doing that, and I want you to explore Poker1 in the way that’s most comfortable to you.

Let's make sure it's really you and not a bot. Please type digits (without spaces) that best match what you see. (Example: 71353)

  1. Hey, if someone can master one of your concepts after reading it once, more power to them.

It’s actually a good thing for me because I know that I am going to forget some details. Being able to read it again just reinforces the concept.

    Cheers
