Poker1 log of changes and additions: 2010-08

2010-08-26

Added or completed entries or pages…

Mike Caro poker Word is Shuffle

Changed entries or pages

Minor fixes

Added “(a United States Marine)” after first instance of “Jeffrey Wright” in “Poker photos from Iraq (Caro blog)”

Finished adding “Why sixties people can’t win at poker,” “Maturity comes with a damaged ego,” “How FPS and Occam’s Razor affect your poker profit,” “Mike Caro poker word is Wiring” (waiting until it scrolls off the “Poker1 today” list), “Sitting out Easter in the Ozarks (Caro blog),” “My apology to web designers (Caro blog),” “I used to be mentally retarded (Caro blog),”  “Poker photos from Iraq (Caro blog),” “My hippie photo that scared advertisers (Caro blog),” and others to “Poker1 classics” list on home page or “More Poker1 classics.” (Both home page “Poker1 classics” list and “Poker1 classics” entry linked to from there are now complete.)

Added “in 1977” after “first printing” in “My hippie photo that scared advertisers (Caro blog)”

(Note: This experiment failed, because WordPress automatically filters the HTML and changes “&xyz;” character codes back to the actual font, which appears in HTML view, as well as design view. This happens even when an external editor, such as Expression Web, is used.) Experimentally hanged eight instances of spade character to HTML “♠”. This should make no difference with the five current major browsers, but is possibly safer with others. (Note that this change won’t be duplicated in many entries that use card symbols from fonts. Mostly, those should display properly, but aren’t guaranteed to do so in all cases.) (Change attempt abandoned. See note at beginning of this paragraph.)

Functionality added, discontinued, or changed…

None

Other…

Rotated “Poker1 today” — added for today and removed previous Thursday from bottom of the seven-entry list (new to old)

Added “Mike Caro poker word is Shuffle” to Spotlight

Removed “Mike Caro poker word is Formula” from Spotlight. (Spotlight is at its new permanent length of 19 entries.)

Mike Caro poker word is Favorites

Changed entries or pages

Minor fixes, including entry linking, an index link (which will be followed by the same on other entries in that series), and horizontal rules inserted above and below the beginning note in “Tuesday session 13…”

Moved “Caro’s Roulette System #1” from “Poker1 classics” on home page to the “More Poker1 classics” entry (which isn’t finished) and replaced with “Mike Caro poker word is Wiring”

Partially added from list, “Why sixties people can’t win at poker,” “Maturity comes with a damaged ego,” “How FPS and Occam’s Razor affect your poker profit,” “Mike Caro poker word is Wiring” (waiting until it scrolls off the “Poker1 today” list), “Sitting out Easter in the Ozarks (Caro blog),” “My apology to web designers (Caro blog),” “I used to be mentally retarded (Caro blog),”  “Poker photos from Iraq (Caro blog),” “My hippie photo that scared advertisers (Caro blog),” and others to “Poker1 classics” list on home page or “More Poker1 classics.” (Entry remains marked “Pending,” because most links are still placeholders copied from home page.)

Functionality added, discontinued, or changed…

Rotated “Poker1 today” — added for today and removed previous Wednesday from bottom of the seven-entry list (new to old)
