Probably comes from craps dealers who pronounce the word clearly, loudly, and distinctly to distinguish amid all the casino noise from the similar sounding seven. Often they drag it out to eeyoleven, and this is sometimes shortened to eeyo. Also, yo.

(expression) Sarcastic comment made when a player just shows down a hand that probably should have bet or just calls with a hand that probably should have raised.

(n phrase) An obsolete term for any player to the left of the eldest hand (that is, the one immediately to the left of the dealer).

(n phrase) An obsolete term for the last player to receive cards (that is, the dealer).

(n phrase) The new breed of young poker players, particularly superaggressive tournament players in their 20s. Many of them got their start on the Internet.

(expression) A reminder that a player owes money to a pot, has not anted, or has not posted a required blind.
