Poker1 log of changes and additions: 2010-04

2010-04-04

Added or completed entries or pages…

Note to visitors reading our development changelog: There will many new unplanned entries below. This constitutes a catch-up endeavor, because we discovered that a group of articles at the old Poker1 site had not been transferred. We thought they had been prior to opening the semi-under-construction Poker1 to the public 18 days ago. Below is a growing list of this newly transferred content, as it arrives from Diane McHaffie (MCU director of operations). Eight from this group were added late last night (pre-midnight) and are listed for 2010-04-02. The articles haven’t been fully formatted yet. The remaining tells videos at the old Poker1 and the poker odds tables are scheduled to trickle in over the next month. The tables require significant reformatting. Today’s unscheduled content (preceded by a few at the top that were  intended for today)…

New for today, but not in catch-up group (see explanation above)…

Sitting out Easter in the Bible Belt (Caro blog)

Catch-up group for today (see explanation above)…

When to call, when to bet — some powerful answers

Which poker concepts are correct and which aren’t?

Who invented stud and hold ’em? Truth revealed

Who is the God of Irony? Why doesn’t he gamble?

Political correctness hasn’t come to my campus

Pet peeves and why casinos should open more tables

Pet peeves and the need to spread new games (published earlier and was almost identical to entry above. Removed from library by making it a private post)

Why sanity never helped your bankroll

Why sixties people can’t win at poker

Wrong and right things to do in poker

Changed entries or pages…

Finished, transferring , reformatting, and uploading numerous articles from old Poker1 site that were skipped over accidentally before opening the new site to the public. Diane McHaffie, MCU director of operations, conducted this batch upload — so there were a much greater number of entries made live Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday (today) than planned.

Functionality added, discontinued, or changed…

None

Other…

Experimented with new header logo, showing spade in harmony with content graphic. (Upload broke header, which showed parts of both old and new intermingled. Needed to revert to a back-up theme, but lost Doyle’s Room banner temporarily.)  Updating of header still in progress.

Changed entries or pages…

IN PROGRESS. Transfer, reformat, and upload numerous articles from old Poker1 site that were skipped over accidentally before opening the new site to the public. Diane McHaffie, MCU director of operations, is doing this now – so there will be a much greater number of entries made live today than planned (probably tomorrow, too).

Corrected home page near bottom where it said Spotlight was on the right sidebar. It was moved to the left sidebar.

Removed index sub-menu reference from “Visitor tips” entry, as these no longer exist

Fixed box near top of “Caro’s Roulette System #1 explained,” because Internet Explorer (through version 8) doesn’t honor formatting. Replaced with horizontal lines above and below.

Inserted roulette-wheel graphic in the roulette explanation entry (cited above) to help clarify and copied the entire system rules into the explanation post

Minor fixes

Functionality added, discontinued, or changed…

Fixed the index at MCU / MCU library / MCU articles so that it divides into pages and uses two columns

Created Mike Caro index

Linked Mike Caro index to main index page (top tab)

Removed title pop-ups on Mike Caro photos in “About Mike Caro” and “Mike Caro complete biography”

Put non-visible MW (Michael Wiesenberg) tag on poker dictionary letter B test page. Otherwise, it listed in the Mike Caro index by default

Other…

Added shadowed accent lines above and below the “p1” on the Poker1 default article graphic. (The graphic was modified yesterday to include the “p1” for branding.)
