As a native Texan born and raised, I wish I had the chance to meet Doyle. Very grateful for the love and contributions he made to the game. Being from Dallas we don’t have any casinos in Texas, have to drive to the ‘Shoe in Shreveport or Winstar and Choctaw right across the Red River in Oklahoma… I’ve heard too many horror stories even nowadays of some of the home games and other places in Texas. They faced much more dangerous conditions back then. Much respect…Just wished I had never picked up Uston’s book in 92 and had picked up Super System instead. After one too many BJ losses, went down to the poker room at the Horseshoe in Shreveport in 2010 and never looked back…oh how I wish I had played NLHE all those years instead.
