Curtailing verbal attacks is one thing.  Preventing an adult from using adult language in an adult setting is ridiculous.  Actually, the very concept of "adult language" is ridiculous.  Words are just words.  They have only the power a listener gives them, and even then it's an emotional response, not a logical one.  "Curse" words are no longer used to curse; people in civilaztion no longer believe that telling someone to drop dead will make it happen.  In a civilized society, "foul" language is used simply to further a listener's understanding of a speaker's point of view, whether positive or negative, defensive or aggressive.  The idea of certain words or phrases being "too vulgar to speak in mixed company" is arcane.
