| scott (10/1/2005) The forum is up and we need your posts! If you have some thought provoking questions or comments about poker, please post them up. Let's make this the place where everybody goes to exchange ideas and thoughts about our favorite game. Scott Forum Moderator I would like to deposit $ but my concern w/ the new law combined w/ the replay function of not showing cards instead of letters and when the hand is called the player mucks the hand even though I pay to see the cards. Thats why I pay, to see the cards...gain info etc. Please clarify. thanks Steve A...

| | I was really sort of hoping to benefit from MC's computer research and knowledge. I have developed through computer simulations and probability theory a set of starting hands for each position in NLH which I use as a baseline. I then adjust them for game conditions and any knowledge I might have of my opponents. I was wondering if my starting (bring-in) hands from the cut-off position should be different in a 4 handed game as opposed to a 10 handed game where everyone has folded to the cut-off position. I do realize there is some slight bunching effect when all prior players have folded to the cut-off position. This is caused by the higher likelihood that the folders had low cards. This may cause the cut-off player to have slightly higher requirements in a full ring game. But my research has indicated this bunching effect is de minimus. If this post could be forwarded to MC, I would greatly appreciate it. Tommy The Tourist

| | tommy- Are you playing online or b&m? b&m presents much more difficulties, although if i were playing b&m I would trust my gut more than my cards, and if online, vice versa. Good Luck to you. |

| | Tommy, I think the answer to your question is both yes and no.... in a 4 handed game, your starting hands should be liberal to say the least, however depending on the quality of your opposition, UTG 4 handed would generally be tighter than one off the cutoff at a full table. Again this is only generally, and would almost exclusively depend on the perpensity of the other players to fold/call/raise/reraise.
