Welcome to our Brunson and Caro Forums. While we encourage lively discussion, please be polite. Pretend that you're among friends in your living room. Perhaps there is a place on the Internet for hostile discussion, but this isn't that place.

Remember that for almost everything we know about poker or life, there was a time -- a moment earlier -- when we didn't know it. So, be patient in helping beginners discover truth that's new to them, even if it's obvious to you.

Please help us by pointing out posts that may be inappropriate. Anyone can read these messages, but in order to post you must complete a very simple registration.

Please leave speculative allegations about people's bad behavior or character to other forums with different standards.

You aren't just our guests here; you're our family.

Welcome home.

I agree.... Ive been waiting for this forum to open for months, so if we all love poker so much and love to talk poker, and hangout at poker1.com and like to learn as much as we can, then we should all be posting like crazy....

I would like to start with a question I emailed to Mike Caro that he has not answered yet... Maybe if I post it here, He and all forum members can reply too.

I heard or read Mike Caro say somthing that was some great advice. I have followed it as the word of god since I came across it. I am paraphrasing but "STOP TALKING ABOUT ADVANCED POKER STRATEGIE AT THE POKER TABLE, IN FACT, STOP TALKING ABOUT POKER AT ALL WHILE WE ARE PLAYING POKER" The reason was this... If you are in a game against weaker, less knowledgable players, and they start hearing disscution about poker theory, or strategie... Well, maybe they thought is was all luck, and had no clue that there were theories or strategies, by talking about poker at the poker table you are giving weaker players a motive to play better, so STOP DOING IT.....

Then, In one of Mike's articles or Lectures... He wrote that, sometimes he likes to ask an opponent how they would have played a particular hand, because it gives that opponent an ego boost and will make him/her more likely to give up information about how they play for Mike to take advantage of later.... WOW, Thats a good idea, you could find out if someone likes to gamble on a straight draw when there are Two callers and Two of the same suit already on the flop.... That would be some pretty good info to know about someone.... but wait..... If i use this tactic, that means, I'm the one starting the conversation of advanced poker theory at the poker table.... and while i may be getting information on 1 player at my table, I may also be clueing in 4 other producers at the table... And that cannot be profitable ....

Please help....

Michael

Hi, Michael (patchboy) --

I'll reply by starting a new thread on this topic.

Sorry, I didn't answer your e-mail. Sometimes, I simply don't see some of what comes in, but when I do, I try to answer as big a selection of questions as I can. And sometimes I'm just a bad genius, instead of a mad one.

Now, I'll do most of my replying on this Brunson and Caro poker forum.

Straight Flushes,

Mike Caro

Just a quick note to say Hi "forum newbie" here.

I am a 48 year old "Gaming" Professional from the UK living in France.

I have been playing poker for 30 years, I hate to announce myself as a Professional Gambler because I rarely take a gamble

anyway some one DEAL

People seem to be doing hellos here, so Hiya my name is Alan, I'm actually a poor college student spending what little spare money I have on poker, stretching it out playing freerolls and low buyin tournaments and such. I'm definately of the younger generation of poker (19) and hope to learn alot from here
